Doll-a-Day 2017 #49 Shrunken Saturday: Fancy Nancy

Today's Shrunken Saturday doll is this Fancy Nancy mini doll.

"Fancy Nancy" is a series of children's books by Jane O'Connor, and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser.

Ivy was very fond of them when she was little.

There were several different versions of Fancy Nancy,18" dolls by Jakks Pacific,9" dolls and 18" cloth dolls by Madame Alexander, and these mini dolls. This particular Fancy Nancy came with the Bedroom Playset.

Mine is second hand, and she is missing her pajama top. I had to give her this Lil Bratz undershirt.

She has a wonderful face.

She's about the same size as Barbie's sister Chelsea. That's mainly because of her big hair.Without that she'd be more the size of Kelly.

The tall hair, with the purple streak is all part of the 'fancy'. Other 'fancy' items Nancy enjoyed often included feather boas, ruffles, animal prints, long pearl necklaces, bows, ribbons, and big hats.

You can visit the official Fancy Nancy website HERE.

After a day of  internet problems and a "Brideshead Revisited" marathon (still not finished.) I finally got a post up. We'll see what tomorrow brings!
