Doll-A-Day 2017 #273: Shrunken Saturday:Cottage Collectibles Max, Maxie,and a Couple of Cats

I have to apologize first. Somehow the draft of  this post got published five days ago, only partially finished and with no pictures. Sorry! I have no idea how that happened.
Now for today's post, all finished this time.
I  found this Cottage Collectibles monkey on our trip to Canada recently, although he was from the antique mall we stopped at before reaching Canada. I think he's from Michigan.

Cottage Collectibles were made by Ganz.

I have two Cottage Collectibles cats, and a mouse, which are slightly smaller than this guy's 4".

Tutu is the white cat.

She  is 3" tall.

The black cat is 3 1/2" tall.

And the mouse is 2 3/4" tall.

The Cottage Collectibles dolls all have the little brass  tag on their chests.

They originally came in a muslin bag.

My favourite, is Maxie,the mouse.

I first spotted Maxie in a cake and candy making supplies and gift store.

I kept saying how I wanted him, but I never got him, then one day I found a Maxie at a yard sale.

He was even still in his muslin bag.

It was a good thing, because Maxie was one of those 'one that got away' stories that haunt you. I don't know why.

He's just so cute!

Sometimes a particular thing will just strike me and I have to have it or I can never forget about it. This monkey may have ended up being like that! I just love him! Oddly enough, his name is Max!

See you tomorrow for another doll.

Doll-A-Day 2017 #272:Hunter Huntsman

Today is another doll I got at the flea market last weekend. He's probably familiar to most of you.

He's Hunter Huntsman from the Ashlynn Ella and Hunter Huntsman Ever After High set.

The set came out in 2013.

I'm pretty sure Hunter was the first guy introduced into the Ever After High line. Help me out here Barb.

Like the Ever After girls, Hunter is very poseable.

He's jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles.

This is his original outfit, minus his satchel.

He has half flocked, half rooted hair.

I wanted him when he first came out, but I didn't want to pay the price. I'm ok with the $3 I paid at the flea market.

He's the only Ever After High guy I have, but I think he's my favourite,

I do have a weakness for men with big brown eyes...sorry Ken.

See you tomorrow for Shrunken Saturday.

Doll-A-Day 2017 #271: Miracle Moves Baby

Today's doll is another from the flea market last Saturday. She's this baby.

She's Miracle Moves Drink and Wet Baby.

She is operated by three AA batteries.

When her batteries are installed and her on/off switch, (The black button above.),is turned to the on position, she can coo and yawn, and her eyes open and close, and her mouth moves when  she is 'fed' with her spoon,or given a bottle.

She is activated by the light sensor in her mouth, which you can see here. The bottle presses the surrounding area.

She has soft, rubbery 'skin' that feels sort of squashy and fleshlike on her limbs. (Her face isn't squashy, although it's made of the same rubber.)

The rubber is the sticky sort that picks up every hair and piece of lint within a 50 mile radius.

She does have detailed chubby little feet.

Her rubbery eyelids have 'real' eyelashes.

She has soft, fluffy hair that falls out easily when it's combed.

She was made by Mattel in 2003. Her head is marked 2000 though...

...and her body tag says 2002.

That's because there was an earlier version of Miracle Moves Baby. You can see her original commercial HERE. That one came in a striped jersey onesie and didn't have the pee feature. You can see the commercial for this version of the Baby HERE.

This version came in the purple nylon onesie, and a disposable diaper. She makes a watery peeing sound when her bottom feature is activated. I think the heat of your hand is what makes it work.

She had the diaper when I bought her, but it was in bad condition,so I threw it away.As you'll see in the commercial, her diaper changed colour with water, producing a nasty looking yellow stain!

This baby started out pretty grungy too, like the other dolls you've seen from the flea market.

The thing is,she came from a different dealer. She doesn't have the 'been in the garage for years' story, so I don't know what happened to her.

See you again tomorrow for another doll.
